Inspired by the same subject of Prosper Mérimée’s short story\, Pavel Rotaru has created a ballet performance lead by passion and jealousy which brings together the three protagonists: the seductive Gypsy girl Carmen\, soldier Don José\, and toreador Escamillo. The tension inside the love triangle will finally be fatal for Carmen. The dancing steps articulate both neo-classic\, as well as classic and modern choreographies\, perfectly complimenting each stage of the story. \n  \n  \nCITY BEAT\nMusic: The Art of Noise \nBallet performance in one act  \nThe rhythm and dynamism of the urban life – which surely profoundly resonates with a great deal of our local public – find their depiction in a musical and choreographic performance\, brought to the stage of The Romanian National Opera in Cluj-Napoca directly from The United States of America. The one act ballet performance City Beat\, created by choreographer and ballet maestro Pavel Rotaru\, has premiered in 1994\, in Atlanta. The work has been inspired by the music of Art of Noise\, a synth-pop band created in 1983\, that describes both the tumultuous daily life – the context in with each individual cultivates his own ideals and struggles to achieve them-\, as well as the darkness of night life – when the chaotic and noisy motorcycle clubs\, young lovers\, prostitution bands\, and drug addicts appear. \nYou are invited to discover the powerful essences of present and past\, within a complex and exciting ballet performance! \nThe performance has one break and ends around 8:15 pm.
