DESCRIPTION:Opera in three acts with a libretto by Francesco Maria Piave\, based on La Dame aux camélias by Alexandre Dumas fils \nOne of the most captivating operas of all time\, Giuseppe Verdi’s masterpiece—drawn from the semi-autobiographical novel La Dame aux camélias by Alexandre Dumas fils—invites us into bourgeois Paris\, where the profound love between Violetta Valéry and Alfredo Germont unfolds under the sign of sacrifice and suffering. \nThe production of the Romanian National Opera in Cluj-Napoca\, brought to life through a remarkable collaboration with a French creative team—director Nadine Duffaut\, Emmanuelle Favre\, and Gérard Audier—boldly reimagines the love story at the close of World War II\, in a Paris under German occupation. The dazzling soirées of high society are now set in the legendary Hôtel Lutetia\, where Violetta’s admirers mingle with members of the Nazi elite\, with whom she secretly collaborates. Her tragic end will be shaped not only by illness and heartbreak\, but also by the humiliation inflicted by the French liberators. \nWe warmly invite you to an extraordinary encounter with Verdi’s enchanting La Traviata\, in a striking and original interpretation worthy of discovery. \nThe performance is interpreted in Italian\, with Romanian supertitles. \nThe evening includes two intermissions and concludes at approximately 9:45 p.m. \nRecommended age: 7+

DESCRIPTION:Cluj Chamber Music Festival\, now in its 4th edition\, proposes a new perspective on chamber music — an open space where tradition and experimentation coexist. The programme moves across styles and eras\, from Renaissance polyphony to jazz and crossover projects\, bringing together international artists\, established musicians\, and emerging performers. Set within a network of unconventional venues — from churches to inner courtyards and alternative spaces — the festival creates connections and invites audiences to rediscover chamber music beyond conventional frameworks. \nThe concert HARMONIE offers a rare encounter between voice and harp\, in a programme shaped around the idea of inner expression and sonic balance. The repertoire brings together works by Reynaldo Hahn\, Gabriel Fauré\, Claude Debussy\, Ernest Chausson and Sergei Rachmaninoff\, tracing a journey through subtle emotional nuances and the delicate relationship between text\, timbre\, and colour. Voice and harp together create a refined sonic space\, where music becomes at once intimate and deeply expressive. Far from any demonstrative effect\, this programme relies on clarity\, refinement\, and the power of suggestion. \nAbout the artists \nSoprano Tatiana Lisnic is a regular presence on major international opera stages\, collaborating with institutions such as the Vienna State Opera\, the Opéra National de Paris\, and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden\, and working with leading conductors of today’s opera scene. \nHarpist Britt Arend is a highly regarded European musician\, trained in major musical centres and active both as a soloist and as a member of prestigious orchestras.
