SUMMARY:EX ORIENTE LUX: THE AWAKENING OF LIGHT
DESCRIPTION:OPERA APERTA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL 2026 \nThe International Opera Aperta Festival 2026 opens on Sunday\, 21 June\, with a sunrise concert held at Wonderland Resort in Feleac. The event proposes a special format\, in which both the time of day and the natural setting become part of the concert concept. The opening of the festival is thus built around the idea of beginning\, light\, and the direct encounter between music and space. \nThe concert will be performed by the “Camerata Academica” Orchestra of the “Gheorghe Dima” National Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca\, conducted by guest conductor Rafał Janiak. The invited soloist will be violinist Kamila Wasik-Janiak. \nThe programme brings together works from the European symphonic repertoire\, in a sequence that begins with lyrical and contemplative pages and gradually moves towards pieces with a more pronounced rhythmic and orchestral profile. The audience will hear the Adagietto from Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 5\, selections from Gabriel Fauré’s Pelléas et Mélisande and Après un rêve\, the celebrated Largo from Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9\, “From the New World”\, Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No. 1\, as well as two works by Maurice Ravel: Tzigane\, for violin and orchestra\, and Boléro. \nThrough this concert\, the anniversary edition of Opera Aperta 2026 begins its programme in a setting outside the traditional concert hall\, continuing the festival’s direction of bringing music into diverse urban and natural contexts\, accessible to a wide audience. \nThe event has no interval and is expected to end around 7:00 AM. \nAdmission is free. \nRecommended age: 12+ \nThe International Opera Aperta Festival is organised with the support of the Ministry of Culture\, the Cluj-Napoca City Hall\, the Cluj-Napoca Local Council\, the Cluj County Council\, and the “Opera 2 You” Association. \n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:EX OCCIDENTE PAX: THE STILLNESS OF DUSK
DESCRIPTION:OPERA APERTA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL 2026 \nOn Sunday\, 21 June\, the International Opera Aperta Festival 2026 presents Ex Occidente Pax: The Stillness of Dusk – Thresholds\, a sunset concert performed by the “Icoane” Romanian Traditional Music Ensemble at Bánffy Castle in Răscruci. \nThe “Icoane” Ensemble was founded out of the desire to recover\, preserve\, and promote the values of Romanian traditional music. The beginnings of the “Icoane” Group date back to 1995\, while the Romanian Traditional Music Ensemble “Icoane”\, in its current form\, has been active since 1999. The ensemble is trained and conducted by Prof. Ioan Bocșa\, PhD\, joined in recent years by Lecturer Alina Stan\, PhD\, and brings together students and graduates of the “Gheorghe Dima” National Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca. \nThe concert offers an exploration of the Romanian traditional repertoire\, with a focus on ritual songs associated with the major rites of passage in human life: birth\, military service\, marriage\, work\, and death. These “thresholds” define the repertorial structure of the event and offer the audience an insight into the way music accompanied\, within traditional communities\, the essential stages of existence. \nThe concert has no interval and is expected to end around 10:45 PM. \nTickets are available on the bilete.ro platform. \nRecommended age: 12+ \nThe International Opera Aperta Festival is organised with the support of the Ministry of Culture\, the Cluj-Napoca City Hall\, the Cluj-Napoca Local Council\, the Cluj County Council\, and the “Opera 2 You” Association. \n
