INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OPERA APERTA 2025

The ballet evening of the Opera Aperta International Festival 2025 offers a double journey into the expressive power of dance — a meeting of classical and contemporary styles, myth and emotion, history and modernity.

The first part of the evening brings to the forefront the masterpiece “The Creatures of Prometheus” by Ludwig van Beethoven — the only ballet composed by the titan of classical music. Created in 1801 for the imperial court of Vienna at the request of the famous choreographer Salvatore Viganò, the ballet reinterprets the myth of Prometheus through the lens of Enlightenment ideals.

In this staged vision, Prometheus breathes life into statues, guiding them through an initiation into art and knowledge. Under the guidance of Apollo and the Muses, the new beings discover dance, music, and the tragic meaning of existence — an allegory of the transformative power of art and education.

In the second part of the evening, the audience is invited to discover “Bodies & Emotions” — a choreographic creation in neoclassical language, exploring the profound relationship between body and emotion, between movement and inner experience.

Set against an inspired selection of contemporary film music, the dancers bring universal themes to life on stage: love, suffering, joy, fear, and emotional catharsis. It is a ballet dedicated both to younger audiences and to those eager to explore new forms of modern dance expression.

A complex and spectacular ballet evening, where past and present engage in dialogue through the beauty of movement, the power of music, and pure emotion.
