show category: Concert

Cluj Chamber Music Festival, now in its 4th edition, proposes a new perspective on chamber music — an open space where tradition and experimentation coexist. The programme moves across styles and eras, from Renaissance polyphony to jazz and crossover projects, bringing together international artists, established musicians, and emerging performers. Set within a network of unconventional venues — from churches to inner courtyards and alternative spaces — the festival creates connections and invites audiences to rediscover chamber music beyond conventional frameworks.

The concert La carte de la musique marks Europe Day through a musical journey that traverses diverse cultural and stylistic landscapes. Conceived as a selection of works representative of European musical traditions, the programme offers a sonic itinerary in which identities meet and complement one another within a shared artistic language.

From the Classicism of Joseph Haydn and Ludwig van Beethoven to the refinement of Claude Debussy, from the expressivity of George Enescu to the folkloric energy of Béla Bartók and the lyricism of Leó Weiner, the repertoire reflects both the diversity and the unity of the European cultural space. Each work becomes a stage in a journey that highlights both the specificity of each stylistic period and the dialogue between them.

About the artists

The Romanian String Quartet, formed by Radu Dunca and Alexandru Marian (violin), Cristian Andriș (viola), and Radu Sinaci (cello), brings together leading musicians of the Romanian Chamber Orchestra. The ensemble is actively involved in numerous international cultural projects, promoting Romanian music and European artistic dialogue through performances in major cultural capitals and venues.

We invite you on Saturday, May 9, at 7:00 PM, to the Reformed Church on Mihail Kogălniceanu Street for a concert that highlights the intimacy of chamber music as a form of dialogue and encounter.

Cluj Chamber Music Festival – 4th edition – does not propose a formula. It proposes a state of mind.
A festival that does not tell you how to listen to chamber music, but invites you to rediscover it.
