OPERA APERTA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL 2026
On Friday, 26 June, at 11:59 PM, the International Opera Aperta Festival 2026 presents Claude Bolling: The Best of from Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio, an instrumental jazz concert held at MINA – Museum of Immersive New Art.
The event proposes a selection from the work of Claude Bolling, the French composer and pianist known for the way he brought together the languages of classical music and jazz. The programme is based on one of his best-known works, Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio, in which the flute is integrated into a chamber formula with piano, bass, and percussion, in a constant dialogue between the rigour of written music and the freedom of jazz expression.
The concert will be performed by David Crescenzi on piano, Gianluca Vanzelli on flute, Szamtarto Zsolt-Attila on bass guitar, and Grigore Teodorescu on drums.
The programme includes the works Baroque and Blue, Sentimentale, Javanaise, Intime, Irlandaise, Espiègle, Versatile, Fugace, Affectueuse, and Véloce. Each piece proposes a different relationship between the flute and the ensemble, alternating lyrical moments, rhythmic passages, and sections with an improvisatory character.
The concert has no interval and is expected to end around 1:00 AM.
Tickets are available on the bilete.ro platform.
Recommended age: 12+
The International Opera Aperta Festival is organised with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Cluj-Napoca City Hall, the Cluj-Napoca Local Council, the Cluj County Council, and the “Opera 2 You” Association.
