Opera for children in three acts and a prologue
Really receptive to the curiosity and energy that characterizes the age of every childhood, the producers of this production – Traian Savinescu (Stage Director), Adrian Morar (Conductor) and Viorica Petrovici (Scenographer) – they intendend to bring in front of the little spectators, but also the parents or grandparents, the opera Puss in Boots written by Cornel Trăilescu, in the case of a theater performance in the theater. Thus, the story of the motan ”Cototoşman” is presented to the royal family by a band of traveling actors, in honor of the little prince. Not only the nobles on the stage will take part in the wonderful artistic act, but also the little ones in the showroom of the Romanian Opera Cluj, watching scenes that are made and unfolded in an alert rhythm, even playful and in sight and becoming – even in the way passive – his accomplices.
Our artists give life and sound to the fairy tale world in which the Motan – alias „Cototman” – transforms his young „master” and friend – Ionică – into voivod. He does this only after he saves the life of the Emperor, of the servants held captive by the Grand Ruler, deceives the Ogre, obtains Ionica a castle and brings him a wife – the beautiful Lady. At the wedding at the end of the fairy tale the most important characters from the Romanian fairy talke take part. Joy is for everyone!
