INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OPERA APERTA 2025

Under the summer evening sky, Cluj becomes the stage for a grand tribute to one of the most beloved opera composers of all time – Giacomo Puccini.

Union Square will echo with some of the most emotional and spectacular musical pages from his works, in an event that brings together two major Romanian opera houses: the Romanian National Opera Iași and the Romanian National Opera Cluj-Napoca.

The audience will be taken on a musical journey through the expressive and dramatic worlds of Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Turandot, La bohème, Manon Lescaut, Suor Angelica, La rondine, Edgar, Gianni Schicchi, and Le Villi – a selection combining lyricism with powerful choral and orchestral moments.

A monumental evening where voices, chorus, and orchestra unite in a celebration of passion, love, and the poetic tragedy that defines Puccini’s art.
