OPERA APERTA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL 2026

We invite you on Sunday, June 28, to embark on a unique musical journey with the Madrigal – Marin Constantin National Chamber Choir: THE SILK ROAD.

THE SILK ROAD offers audiences a symbolic journey along the historic route that, for centuries, connected East and West, reflecting—through music and poetry—the deep cultural ties and exchanges between civilizations.

The performance brings together works inspired by the cultures of Asia—Japan, China, India, Kazakhstan, Georgia—as well as Europe—Germany, Romania, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. The original set design, created by Vladimir Turturica, unites iconic landmarks and landscapes from this vast cultural and commercial route in an intricate and visually striking scenographic concept.

Recipient of numerous international awards, the Madrigal Choir has performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, with thousands of concerts and performances. Its refined artistic expression and distinctive sound have led international critics to compare it to “a Stradivarius violin in the hands of Paganini.”

In November 2016, the ensemble was officially recognized as an Ambassador of Freedom, Hope and Peace, receiving the “Jean Nussbaum and Eleanor Roosevelt” Award at the United Nations Palace of Nations in Geneva, during the Global Summit of Religion, Peace and Security.
