The Orchestra of the Romanian National Opera in Cluj-Napoca

Stage and backstage direction: Dan Lupea

description

show category: opera gala

An event presented under the auspices of the Romanian Royal Family

Recommended Age: 6+

The defining role of the Romanian Royal Family and the contribution King Ferdinand I had in establishing the first Romanian Theatre – Romanian National Opera in Cluj-Napoca nowadays –, has been cellebrated during our last seasons within some glowing Opera Galas. As an emblem of our cultural and artistic identity, the Romanian National Opera in Cluj-Napoca still preserves, after almost a century of existance, the main goal of promoting the Excellency and tradition, closing its fulfilment by discovering and supporting the young talents.

Similar to the Romanian Royal Family, highly estemeed for its thoughtfulness towards specially-gifted students, the Romanian National Opera in Cluj-Napoca takes over the mission of creating the appropriate frame for the artistic acts, within some projects and special events. So it is the third Opera Regal edition, featuring ,,Gheorghe Dima” Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca students and ,,Lya Hubic” Opera Studio members, who will perform some arias, duets and ensemble fragments from famous or seldom-presented operas and operettas, such as Die Zauberflöte and Le nozze di Figaro (W. A. Mozart), L’italiana in Algeri (G. Rossini), Faust (Ch. Gounod), Don Pasquale (G. Donizetti), Die Csárdásfürstin (E. Kálmán), Carmen and Les pêcheurs de perles (G. Bizet), Hérodiade (J. Massenet), and other pleasant music surprises that will lead you to a genuinely royal setting!

We are waiting for you to join us!

The performance has one break and ends around 8.30 p.m.
